I started drawing portraits of friends and family when I was in high school and continued into nursing school. Between starting a career and raising a family, my artistic endeavors took different paths -- play dough, fingerpainting, and kid's crafts. Now that my children are grown, I have rediscovered my love of art, especially capturing expressions in portraits. After hectic shifts as an ER nurse, drawing relaxes me and revives my positive outlook on life. I am self taught. I read alot of how-to books and art magazines and then practice what I read. I hope you enjoy my work.
I work on acid free paper using graphite pencils ranging from HB to 9B. All portraits are sprayed with a fixative to prevent smudging.
